  • Introduction

    Welcome to the hands-on course for our platform. In this learning space, you will have the opportunity to explore and practice all the platform’s functionalities through concrete examples.
    Our goal is to help you gain solid, applied knowledge so you can make the most of every feature the tool has to offer. Throughout the course, you’ll find practical cases designed to strengthen your understanding and provide an active and effective learning experience.


  • Ontologies - Business Data Layer

    In this section, the practical part of Ontologies within Stratio Data Governance is shown.


      1. Rename the .owl File:

        • Rename the ontology file from Formación to Training_[USERNAME] (e.g., Training_admin.owl).

        • Import the ontology into Stratio Data Governance.

      2. Add Classes to the Business View:

        • Add the following classes to the Business View of your collection:

          • Product

          • ShipMethod

          • SalesOrderDetail

          • SalesOrderHeader

          • SalesPerson

          • SalesTerritory

      3. Visual Mapping:

        • Map the Product class with the production_product table from the Technical View manually and visually.

        • Before publishing, select the Read Only and Informational modes.

           4. Transition the Business Table:

        • Transition the Business Table Product to the Published state.

           5. SQL Mapping: (pending) (not available at the moment)

           6. Transition all Business Views to Publised.

           7. Request Permissions:

        • Send an email to certification@stratio.com requesting permissions for the Business View of your collection to visualize and query the mapped tables from the Rocket catalog and from Discovery.

        • Email subject: "Formación Governance - Permisos Business View - [USER]"

           8. Once the request in the previous section has been answered, you will have to validate that both tables of the business layer can be consulted from Discovery :

        - At the top of the screen, click on the "Write SQL" button and select "Virtualizer" from the drop-down menu.



        - Make a select limiting the first 10 elements, from the paciente and episodio tables of the business data layer you have just generated: semantic_[collection].

        9. Generate Related Assets between the Business View of your collection and the Glossary of business terms (your domain generated in the previous sections)

             10. Generate Related Assets between the Business View of your collection and the datastores of the data dictionary composing the Technical View you have used in the mapping.

              11. Validate that all the relationships you have generated are correctly visualised in the Knowledge Graph
